When attempting to copy a calendar's content, Sharegate displays one of the following error messages:
- The recurring event associated with this event could not be found at the destination. Please try again and include it in the copy.
- The recurring event associated with this event could not be found at the destination because multiple events match the entry.
When creating an exception, either a modification to an occurrence or a deletion, to a recurring event in a calendar, Sharepoint creates a new event to manage this particular instance of the recurring event by assigning the recurring event's identifier to its MasterSeriesItemId field. When copying, Sharegate needs to retrieve the proper recurring event at the destination in order to reassign its id to the special occurrence. There must be a single match in order to make sure that the proper recurring event was associated to the special occurrence.
If no corresponding recurring event was found, make sure that it was copied before attempting to copy the special occurrence or include it in the copy.
If more than one recurring event was found, it means that more than one item matches the key properties set in the property mappings. In order to find a distinct recurring event, try specifying more key properties that could potentially identify the event. For more information on key properties, please refer to the "Key Properties" section of the following article.
