This feature gives you an overview of the site collections, sites, unused sites, and workflows that you have in a source in order to estimate the amount of effort it would take to migrate them to SharePoint or Office 365.
You'll also have a list of improvements to help make the migration process smoother.

File Share Inventory
From this screen you can select the source on which to run the inventory. You can choose between the File Share or SharePoint & Office 365.
From this screen you can select your migration destination. You can choose between Office 365, SharePoint OnPremises 2016, or SharePoint OnPremises 2013. The destinations have different criteria for what can be imported, which will be reflected in the results screen.
The inventory runs on your selected farms, tenants, or site collections. You can select a single inventory target (by highlighting it) or you can specify a more advanced selection by checking the boxes on the left-hand side of the desired targets.
Important: If you specify your selection using checkboxes, the highlighted element will only be included if it's also checked. Also note that selecting a drive or folder always includes it's child elements. Therefore, removing the checkmark on a child element will remove the check from the parent drives or folders.
While the analysis is running, the progress is presented to the user. The inventory progress shows how many sites were processed so far, and the size occupied by these sites. The analysis can be cancelled at time while it is running. Doing so will bring the user back to the source selection screen. Note that it is possible to perform other actions in Sharegate while the analysis is running.
Once the inventory report is completed, the results screen will appear.
